I went to the new MOMA in New York during this snowing week end
Except the crazy line for President’s day
(zillion people waiting like me and as you know, french people prefer queue jumping but
amazingly i did not) ,
it was a great pleasure to discover some couple of unique Miro and amazing Picasso i have never seen before.
However the new design and architecture section was quite disappointing.
( remember the Starck exhibit in Centre Gearge Pompidou a year ago!!=
after 15 minutes, i have discovered a lot of young and less young people with digital cameras shooting the painting as a eye scanning. i decided to do some couple of pics of course without any flashlite as a souvenir for my blog.
I m still a big fan of couple of nice impressionist at the top floor around Degas and Giacometti sculptures ( below)…

We must stop Bush to get Congress support to start Oil drilling in Alaska reserve in Arctic!!!
More than 1,000 leading U.S. and Canadian scientists called on President Bush today to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge from oil drilling. In a letter to the President, the scientists questioned assert that oil could be safely extracted from the Refuge and urged President Bush to "support permanent protection of the coastal plain’s significant wildlife and wilderness values." Read the letter.

The scientists said oil development could seriously harm caribou, polar bears, muskoxen and snow geese — among other wildlife. They warned it could disrupt the fragile ecosystem of the coastal plain, which they said could lead to even more widespread injury to wildlife and its habitat. The signers categorically rejected the notion that the impacts of drilling could be confined to a limited footprint, as pro-drilling forces claim,noting that the effects of oil wells, pipelines, roads, airports,housing facilities, processing plants, gravel mines, air pollution, industrial noise,seismic exploration and exploratory drilling would radiate across the entire coastal plain of the Arctic Refuge.

The Kyoto global warming pact went into force Wednesday, seven years
after it was negotiated, imposing limits on emissions of carbon dioxide
and other gases blamed for raising world temperatures and sea levels
and melting glaciers.
The protocol, negotiated in Kyoto in December 1997 and ratified by 140
nations( except the US which represents 40% of CO2 emissions), officially went into force at midnight New York time, where
the U.N. is headquartered.
After seven years of negociation it s time now to translate it into action
ok it s a small step for mother Nature , BUT a big step for Humanity
The European Union is committed to cutting greenhouses gazers emissions to 8 percent below 1990 levels by 2012
