China wants to lead Climate Change in Copenhagen
November 26, 2009
A great news coming today from China. For the first time China has unveiled its first firm target for limiting greenhouse gas emissions, two weeks before a global summit on climate change in Copenhagen.

Beijing said it would aim to reduce its “carbon intensity” by 40-45% by the year 2020, compared with 2005 levels. This announcement came just after a very shy Obama’s announcement which would offer to cut US emissions by 17% from 2005 levels by 2020.
The two giants of the Planet will fight not only for the most powerful economy rank but now for green leadership at The Copenhagen UN summit – between 7-18 December…A fantastic move which expects more optimistic outcome for 2010. Environment is not the enemy of the Economy ,it is a joint adventure!
Can Dow Solar Shingle leapfrog rooftop expense and aesthetics challenges
November 17, 2009
Interesting to see how Dow Chemical embracing in the smart way the solar rooftop market using CIGS solar cells technology to please the eye of architects.
Solar Shingle should be about 30-40% cheaper than other BIPV systems and save installation cost.No specialized skills or knowledge of solar array installations are required.

Jane Palmieri from Dow Chemical said it would cost 10 to 15 percent less on a per watt basis.( that was the main challenge all manufacturers had in the past…including myself! if it is really the case it is a killer app in 2011)
..TIME magazine just named this solar shingle one of the 50 best invention of the year ..a story to follow in 2010…if of course more greener recycling plastic is used….
Inaction on Climate Change will cost $500 billion
November 14, 2009
According the IEA in its new 2009 World Energy Outlook, a delay of just a few years would probably render that goal completely out of reach.” a delay before moving onto the emissions path consistent with a 2°C temperature increase would add approximately $500 billion to the global incremental investment cost of $10.5 trillion for the period 2010-2030

Imagine how many solar systems we can installed with $500 billion…
