Laurent LAFITE : Founder
Laurent Lafite brings a distinguished record of service to environmental causes along with proven executive leadership experience to his role as Founder of Wattsblue. Prior to creating Wattsblue , Laurent spent more than 20 years in the private and NGO sectors, most recently with ICP Solar where he led their global Marketing & Photovoltaic development initiatives in USA and Europe as Vice President Worldwide Marketing & Business development . Earlier in his career, as Marketing Director Europe with INTEL Corp in London (UK), Laurent created and developed the Skoool.com platform, the most creative revision website in Europe for students, teachers and parents. From 1995 to 2000, Laurent was instrumental in establishing ELLE Interactive office in New York for LAGARDERE Media , where he led multiple Worldwide strategic partnerships such as Estée Lauder, CNN,Chanel and drove several online business units during 5 years with bottom line success.
Laurent began his career in France practicing strategy and consulting as Group Account Director for major international packaged goods accounts during 8 years with EURO-RSCG Advertising, the first Communication Group in Europe .
Laurent has volunteered with a number of children’s NGOs and environmental organizations. Laurent was an active member of Planete Enfants where he served as volunteer as Program Director in Katmandhu during one year sabbatical launching the first Street Children Soccer World Cup with UNICEF and coordinating fund raising and capacity building programs at the grass root level . Since 2006 he served as President of the board of Perennia, a very innovative Montréal-based Eco-Design start-up and gave pro bono support for small NGOs in Africa and Canada.
Since 2001, Laurent has developed an expertise in Climate Change Practice and Clean Energy Innovation he has been sharing in his blog with humor for more than 6 years.
